What would you do in this situation

Mrs Jones's integrated fridge freezer stopped working so she called the managing agent. They spoke to the landlord who wanted the cheapest solution to the problem which he believed was to try to fix the appliance.

A contractor was dispatched and after assessing the fault, he quoted for parts, waited for authorization, ordered the parts and went back to finish the work.

However, the engineer returned and fitted the part he suspected was at fault to find the appliance still didn't work and quoted for more parts. The tenant was, by now in desperate need for a fridge freezer and called the agent again to express her concerns.
