Upmarket agency chain Winkworth, chiefly known for its London network,  is opening in Northampton, a place attracting grants for regeneration growth.

As it breaks into the Midlands, Winkworth, which recently restructured its funding on AIM, says Northampton is ideal commuter territory for London commuters.

Dominic Agace, chief executive, said: “Northampton is less than one hour’s commute from London and provides access to open countryside with affordable prices for those who are looking to move out of London with young families.

“Our office in Northampton will complement our existing London network and we look forward to providing our Northampton clients with buyers from London.”

West Northamptonshire has been designated a flagship growth area, with plans to transform Northampton into a regional city.

The town centre is to be redeveloped and over £55m is being invested to start development.

Geoff Morgan is the new franchisee of Winkworth Northampton. He said: “I believe Northampton is an ideal place to open an estate agency. The area is targeted for growth over the coming years with significant development, not only in the housing stock, but also the town centre and the overall local infrastructure.

“We are determined to demonstrate that Winkworth Northampton will make a real contribution to these plans.”

I visited this Estate Agent as I am trying to find a flat to rent and I found them to be extremely helpful and more than happy to spend time explaining what I need to look for.
