A second property website has launched which allows consumers to look for estate agents and see how they performed on the basis of past sales.

The site, called whosoldwhere.co.uk, says it aims to help consumers decide which agent to choose, while allowing agents to highlight their performance.

Potential clients can select the right agent for selling their property, either by postcode or a single road. They can also search for an agent by property value.

The site seems similar to another that has recently launched, PropertySoldBy, although whosoldwhere – which went live to the industry only yesterday and has yet to launch to the public – will also have For Sale listings. PropertySoldBy does have For Sale listings, but only for its 'premium' agents.

PropertySoldBy uses only Land Registry information, and then invites estate agents to ‘own’ the property that has been sold, before verifying that this really is the case.

Whosoldwhere works differently, enabling agents to publicise details of each property they have sold the instant the deal is done – some weeks before Land Registry information is available.

It will give neighbours the ultimate ‘nosy neighbour’ fix, since they will immediately be able to see which agent sold the property next door and what it fetched, along with a property description, floor plans and images.

Company founder Paul Kinsler said: “Whosoldwhere doesn’t just display properties for sale, as there are plenty of other websites which do this.

“It gives estate agents the chance to highlight their performance so potential clients can see for themselves exactly who has a strong market share within a given area.”

North London agent Jeremy Leaf said: “This is a consumer-friendly property portal that is distinctly different as it could actually help agents gain more business.”

For an initial period of at least four months, the site will be free to agents to upload their sold, for sale and rental data. Agents who sign up before the end of the free trial period will get a reduced annual subscription which Kinsler says will be “very competitive”.

He also says that when the site launches to the public, it will be supported by a full PR and media campaign.

    'whosoldwhere':

You state "Just to reiterate, at this point this was only ever meant to be a theoretical demonstration to the industry of the whosoldwhere concept."

Sorry - but there is no 'iterate' to 're' here - your PR states only that the site "...went live to the industry only yesterday and has yet to launch to the public..." - but clearly the public are being exposed to it by the 'agents' who post below.

" We had initially compiled data from various online sources and individual websites; we knew it was not going to be 100% accurate. This data will remain on the site for a short period until agents have replaced it with actual property data."

So... what you are saying is that the 'Agents' who have posted below are using false information - and because YOU knew it was false, we must assume that you complied with legislation and told THEM that it was false information - which now leaves these companies looking at potential prosecutions for breaking CPRs.

And, as they will no doubt come back denying any knowledge of the information being inaccurate - any Agent using this information from now DO know, thanks to your admission.

So - you will have to spew out YET ANOTHER press release (not that you'll need prompting...) to let us all know whan the data is actually worth a shizzle to anyone and won't land them in the brown squishy, won't you?

For someone whose expertise lies in the field of PR, this reads like a bit of a Ratner moment, dunnit?

...I suggest the office word for today is OOPS!!

Thank you for your comments. Just to reiterate, at this point this was only ever meant to be a theoretical demonstration to the industry of the whosoldwhere concept. We had initially compiled data from various online sources and individual websites; we knew it was not going to be 100% accurate. This data will remain on the site for a short period until agents have replaced it with actual property data.

Just tested this site in three postcodes we cover.

The information is way out and showing withdrawals as sales.

    Nice idea, poorly executed.

The site is a load of b*ll*cks and the data is completely inaccurate.

    What a load of tosh.

Hmmm... how many advertiposts can one 'story' attract I wonder?

And as far as those who seem most in favour - well all I can say is if you can only muster 7 (congratulations on the one that you have apparently already 'sold' in SEPTEMBER, by the way...) and 11 sales respectively in 2013 to crow about, then I completely understand why you would consider this 'tool' such a boost to your morale - which must be way down there with the whale $h!t...

What about you, 'Mark' - are YOUR 2013 sales into double figures yet?

BRILLIANT! .......just used the site to show a potential client in the office how many homes we have sold in the immediate area over other agents and won the instruction! Can't say it was wholly down to the site but certainly impressed the client (who lives outside of London) to see that we are the market leaders here.

We are a small independent agent and I believe this portal can work just as well for us as it can for the larger agents. Anyone can see what has sold but this is the first time that a seller can actually see which agent has sold it. For a small firm with less of a board presence it can be a great marketing tool. We have signed up as it is a brilliant idea and is completely different to the many portals looking to rival Zoopla and Rightmove.

    Good luck whosoldwhere...

This was a no brainer for us....as a rather niche agent covering a particular conservation area primarily, we have the opportunity to demonstrate to our potential clients AND to and buyers looking at the site who is THE main player in the immediate area.

Moreover with the SOLD information hitting the site much much earlier than the 'big boys' who gather from Land Registry the info provided is far more up to date AND has the right pics attached - unlike rightmove whom I have emailed about this and they have failed to respond to me a week later!

Valuers should also find this site of great interest - all the info at their finger tips!! Well done guys...at least someone has thought about a gap in the market for once. good luck to you.

So, it's a bit like the Zoopla Current Values page then.

That lists what sold when and if it was advertised through Zoopla you can see the old details.

I think Rightmove has a version of it too.

The USP of this site then is that it does this on its front page, rather than further in.

Good luck, but I'm not convinced that I should pay extra for it...

To any agent who knows they have an impressive share of their local sold properties, this is, as far as we are aware, the only opportunity to demonstrate it to the public.

It also looks as though the earlier agents list their properties there, the more beneficial exposure they may gain.

Most of our clients are uploading to it already (for free). We will watch the results with interest.

Best of luck to whosoldwhere.co.uk - they deserve to be taken seriously if for no other reason than it is the first portal to offer the consumer innovation of use and value.

Dreamview Estates were approached by Mr Kinsler to trial this innovative new property website.

We wanted toi be "in on the ground floor" as we felt it was an excellent tool for marketing our company and proving how good we were at selling in the immediate area which is our forte'.

A client can simply tap in their own postcode, give a radius and they will see who the most active agent is in the immediate vicinity. Far better than any canvassing letters! With that knowledge they can then approach the best performing company with the intimate local knowledge who should get them a quick sale

Murray Lee, Managing Director of Dreamview Estates said "This website is very user friendly and we are sure it will help us gain many more instructions. It also gives a new and different marketing portal where to advertise"

We are sure whosoldwhere.co.uk will go on to be a told property portal in a very short time.

We wish them the best of luck.
