It’s possible that you were watching Downton Abbey on Sunday night, and being driven mad by the length of the ad breaks.

However, if you were watching Spooks, you’d have seen some much more interesting ‘advertising’ – product placement for Bushells estate agents, no less.

Follow the link to see how to advertise for nothing on prime-time TV, and without alienating the audience. Oh, and what a great storyline: a spy masquerading as an estate agent. But did Bushells take a leaf out of Douglas & Gordon's book and put espionage expert Ryan on their website as one of their negotiators?

Scroll to 17 minutes and 45 seconds of this:

Thanks for the kind words - but I had NOTHING to do with this at all! It was all down to my colleague Liz Marshall - Manager of Dulwich.

Well done EW. Great coup. How much would that cost at 9.30pm on a Sunday night - especially on a channel that doesn't advertise!!

Loads of our staff saw it - Spooks has to get a few million viewers - looked good as well.

I nearly sprayed my wine across the room when I saw Bushells on BBC One on Prime-time TV. Our office is nearby and was cunninglt missed - did you have directional input??

Great effort guys - I suppose there is no chance of finding out how you wangled it? And it was repeated the following night!

I have to say - I thought the office looked GREAT - though I am surprised they used your brand - not being rude - but product placement is banned - but fair play EW - just jealous.

My first reaction when I saw Spooks was "How the hell did they manage that! Jammy sods"

It was quite exciting actually - and very odd to see the office on TV. I agreed as Spooks is one of my favourite shows and it raised a few quid for charity.

I just wanted to be sure the undercover agent didn't kill anyone or pinch any money - thankfully he was a nice agent. Didn't manage to get an offer though.

The crook clearly didn't have a clue about current market conditions. The spook who was pretending to be a negotiator was driving a spangly new Audi (real agents like me drive battered old audis)

    Dead giveaway.

    My name is Bond.

    Basildon Bond.

    Got to love it.

Spooks is a great show and Bushells have managed to get themselves on TV without being interviewed as grubby estate agents.

Can I be in the next episode?

I could be the out of work drunken bum sitting on a street corner...
