New consumer portal partners with Rightmove

Monday 4th February 2013

A new one-stop consumer property portal is to launch this month, with an estate agent search facility powered by Rightmove.

The website, A Passion for Homes, is the consumer face of a business-to-business marketing agency.

The site – whose partners also include A Place in the Sun, while estate agents Chesterton Humberts are supporting the actual launch – will be aimed at consumers needing a ‘property fix’ and will have features on lifestyle, home products, celebrity interviews, architecture and interior design, as well as a property search. There will also be interactive pages for people to share their property stories and ideas.

A launch event is to be introduced by buy-to-let investor Kevin Green, one of the people featured on TV’s Secret Millionaire.

Rightmove’s social media manager, Sarah Brown, said: “It’s great to see a new website that shares our love for property. A Passion for Homes looks like an ideal place for the British home-moving public to supplement their property fix, and we look forward to working with them.”

A Passion for Homes is the idea of two women. One is Andrea Morgan, a self-confessed addict of Rightmove who says that through Twitter she realised there were many thousands of people wanting to share her property and home passion, stories and information.

The other co-founder is Joanne Ridout, who says she was frustrated by having to visit multiple sites to find information and inspiration, news, views, tips and trends in the property and home market.

Morgan said: “Rightmove and I have had such a wonderful twitter relationship, which has now turned into a professional one.  A Place in the Sun have also been so supportive – we want to say a huge thank you to both companies. Social media has paid a crucial part in forging relationships that have been invaluable in developing A Passion for Homes.”

The national launch of A Passion for Homes is on February 14.

Logic says they have direct access to all agents buyers, so perfectly placed to sell all the "add ons" , FS, Surveys, Conveyancing , removals, insurance etc
