London agents Edmund Cude are recruiting once again for their summer internship programme in lettings and property management.

The firm looks for undergraduate students who still have a year to go at university, and are interested in property.

The interns get paid £350 a week and receive a housing allowance if they don’t already live in London.

They are expected to participate fully in the day to day running of the business, and can expect to gain experience in negotiations, conducting viewings, the property market and customer service. The interns also enjoy the company’s monthly social events.

Alex Vintner, commercial director, said: “We run the internship programme every year. This ties in very well with our graduate training scheme and also with the high summer seasonality of London-based lettings.

“We actively encourage the intern to repeat the assignment the following summer, and one of our first interns will start work for us permanently this month.”

Meanwhile, the RICS has announced the launch of a scholarship to enable an outstanding candidate to do research into property, land or the build environment.

It will be called the Fulbright RICS Scholar Award.

Clare Eriksson, RICS head of research, said: “In collaboration with the Fulbright Commission, RICS is offering this new annual award for an academic or outstanding UK professional to pursue research in property, land or the built environment, with any US institution.

“The appointment will be for a period of 3-10 months, beginning at any point between August 1, 2012 and April 30, 2013, and will be awarded £2,750 per month.

“Successful applicants will be UK citizens that hold or expect to receive a Master’s, PhD or possess equivalent professional experience in a relevant area.

“RICS hopes that this award will appeal to all those working within the field of the built environment.

“The global Fulbright Programme is one of the most prestigious worldwide award systems, operating in over 150 countries, and RICS is delighted to be extending this exceptional opportunity to the world of property, land and the built environment.”

The application deadline is  May 31, 2011 and further details can be found at www.fulbright.co.uk
