Company administration business Begbies Traynor has launched an online portal listing a wide range of distressed properties available for immediate sale.

The portal is free to access and currently lists more than 300 UK and overseas distressed properties.

The properties are both residential and commercial, and also listed are parcels of development land. All the properties have been sourced from the firm’s own cases and are said to represent excellent value for money.

The site has already attracted high levels of interest from professional property investors.

The development of the site has been led by partner and property specialist Alistair Dickson.

He said: “Following a period of development and testing, we are delighted to launch this distressed property portal.

“It brings together the considerable assets under our control and features a variety of commercial, residential and industrial properties spanning a wide range of sectors. Volumes are rising rapidly and we expect the properties listed to treble over the next three months, due to the level of interest we have already received in the site.

“Although the UK real estate market remains slow, we are seeing significant levels of interest in the properties we have listed which we believe represent good value and are realistically priced to sell.

“The feedback from agents and the property market has been very positive, and all can see the need for this type of online portal for accelerated sales.

“For agents, it will act as an extension of their marketing efforts and brings an extra dimension to the process. It’s a win-win for all concerned.”

As well as viewing the properties on the website, potential investors can subscribe to receive property email alerts or follow Begbies Traynor @ThePropertyList on Twitter to ensure they hear first about any new distressed and accelerated property sales opportunities.

I've had a quick glance at the site and agree that the prices look what might politely be called optimistic.

I think its a smart move though. There'll be people out there who've watched Sarah Beeny on the telly, think they know it all and buy properties off this site thinking they're being clever. You can imagine them smugly telling their friends how, with a bit of inside knowledge they went directly to the receivers and bought distressed properties at a "bargain" price, whilst being blissfully unaware that they've actually paid over the odds.

Sorry, I appear to be in a very cynical mood today. I'll go and have a lie down and see if it passes.

I cover several of the areas they have properties in and live in another, the properties appear to be well over market value in each of these areas.

I think someone missed "non" before "distressed"

    @Distressed

Have a look at Portal by Steam.

It's a cracking game and is much more entertaining than Rightmove or FAP.

    Ooh, and it is FREE.

Yay, a portal that is free - wow!
