The Home Move Box, the free box of household essentials for home movers, has this month reached its highest ever value. Following a series of new signings from well-known utilities and home improvement companies, the Home Move Box is now worth over £50 to every new household that receives one.
Home Move Box aims to take some of the stress out of moving house by delivering a free box of essential products to home movers, on behalf of estate and letting agents, on the day they move into their new home. This includes tea, coffee, milk and a range of cleaning products, as well as some impressive utility and home improvement offers and discounts.
The value of the Home Move Box has surged in recent months with the inclusion of a number of the UK’s best-selling household brands, as well as some bespoke high-value offers.
Amongst the latest products and offers to be added to the Home Move Box are:
· A four pack of Andrex Gorgeous Comfort Quilts

Over 80% of agency branches in the UK are now ordering Home Move Boxes for their clients. There is no cost to the home mover or the agent, and as the Home Move Box is branded with the agent’s logo, their client knows exactly who it has come from. The principle of this is good but it doesnt work as the people at the box don't deliver anything on time. They say they do but dont. The fact hat it is free as my movers data is used is OK but at least get it right!
Or, put your own HIP together (Home Items Pack). The basics can be picked up for a few quid. Then strike a deal with your local takeaways to they sort out dinner for the first night they move in - on you!
Collectively, its £40 tops for all of that, but the thought will remain for a long time - planting the seed is the key here.
Apparently it not because Home Move don't want to deliver them to use, the delivery company themselves won't do it, one of the reasons I was given is because most Agents are on the High Street and parking delivery vans can be tricky.
How the poor people who live in flats on High Streets get their amazon deliveries at Christmas is beyond me then....
I think it's better to give them to us, then we can either hand them over with the keys, or take it round to them. Much nicer.
Why can't you deliver them to the agents themselves? Then movers don't have to go to the post office to pick it up (which defeats the whole point). It would be 100 times better.
Also, where is the information about the people sent/sold to??
'on the day they move into their new home' my left foot! I once gave them three weeks notice of the moving date, and it still turned up late!
The idea of it is fantastic, but I don't plan to use it again in a hurry...
