HIPs go – but jobs remain at CLG

No one at CLG lost their jobs because of the abolition of HIPs, in contrast to the number of job losses in the HIPs industry.

A spokeswoman said: “The small team dealing with HIPs will work on other activities.”

However, job losses at CLG are possible as the department struggles to reduce costs.

The spokeswoman said: “There is a civil service recruitment freeze as part of the Government’s drive to reduce public spending, but no current programme of compulsory redundancies.”

Does this mean there are yet more people sitting in offices getting paid to DO NOTHING....other activities...hmmm walking around trying to look busy or hiding in the stationary cupboard?
