As Cars4Agents continues to expand its operation we speak to Managing Director Gary Rose about the business and an exciting year ahead.

Q: Who are Cars4Agents?

A: Cars4Agents is a highly successful independent vehicle brokerage with a proven track record in supplying the property industry.

Cars4agents offers a bespoke service to meet the needs of property professionals in assisting with the supply of vehicles to promote businesses in their home towns through a competitive pricing structure and personal service that meets the needs of agents from single operators to multi-franchise national operations.

Q: How did it all start?

A: Cars4Agents began trading in 2007. Co-founders Gary Rose and Darren Nash identified an opportunity in the market to provide cars to the property industry by offering a bespoke service.
 


Gary is a successful Property developer and landlord with over 15 years’ experience knowing exactly what the market expects in terms of service levels.

Darren has 20 years’ experience in the motor industry in both retail, finance and management with over 9 years at Lexus, the world`s number one manufacturer for customer service, which he has brought with him to Cars4Agents. With such a wealth of experience in both the property and vehicle markets between them, bringing this knowledge togetherhas created a unique concept and seemed like a natural progression for the pair.

Q: Why choose Cars4Agents?

A: In these times of austerity, it makes more sense to lease a new vehicle than buy it out right. As Cars4Agents are independently owned and managed, they are able to source the best deals possible on any make or model of car, van or pick-up truck supplied via their network of over 500 UK based dealers. This is then matched with the most competitive rates from their panel of 10 finance companies offering both business and personal funding.

Q: What agents do you currently work with?

A: Cars4Agents are approved by Belvoir’s head office which has 147 branches nationwide. Within the last four years we have successfully supplied vehicles to most branches, one branch having ordered 10 vehicles to date and 3 recently supplied to Belvoir’s head office. Cars4Agents are also approved by Martin & Co head office that have 170 branches nationwide, Northwood head office who have 90 branches and the Xperience Group who have a total of 90 branches under four separate brands: Ellis & Co, CJ Hole, Parkers and Whitegates. The most recent addition to their approved list is the Move with Us Group who operates through 1100 offices nationwide.

    

Q: What makes you stand out from the crowd?

A:
Cars4Agent’s unique selling point is their ability to provide vehicles much sooner than the main dealers and at a reduced price. Each of the approved franchises are given a corporate identity by being independently branded in a different style making them easily recognisable in the property industry. It gives agents the chance to have a moving advert which is “great for brand awareness”.

Q: What is your greatest achievement and what made it so special?

A:
I was the youngest person to pass my driving test on my 17th birthday in 1985. I then went on to pass the IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorist) and ROSPA (Royal Society For The Prevention Of Accidents) within a year of passing my test. Having just missed out on a Guinness book of records entry by a few hours!

Q: What do you feel it takes to be successful in the industry?

A:
“Determination, ambition, focus and drive. As a business if you are able to survive in the current economic downturn you have done really well. As a business we have been fortunate and have managed to expand and who’s to say where we will be once confidence has been regained in the economy.”

Q: Have you been surprised by the rapid growth of the business?

A:
 When we first began trading we realised the need to take on additional staff to help cope with the hugely encouraging upswing in demand for our product and service. Gary commented:

“To cope with the demand, not only have we had to move but also take on extra staff”. Such was the response to the service the business has relocated quite literally doubling the size of the operation. Gary went on to say: “Our new showroom and offices are 1200 sq ft compared to the 400 sq ft we had before- giving us plenty of space to expand further as part of our growth strategy. We also feel it is really important to invest in the local community and our young people, so we’ve taken on two apprentices who are already playing key roles in our operation”



Q: Are you currently offering any special promotions?
