Countrywide to reimburse HIP costs to recent sellers |
Friday 21st May 2010
Countrywide is first out of the traps in the new era of home-selling.
Last night, it said it will reimburse all clients, upon completion, for HIP orders that have taken place in the seven days preceding the Government’s suspension announcement.
In addition, all vendors who have taken marketing advice since January 1 will be offered a free EPC if they put their property on the market before the end of this month.
Robert Scarff, managing director of Countrywide’s estate agency division, said he welcomed the suspension of HIPs, but added: “The new Government has an opportunity to make long-term positive changes to the housing market. An extensive review is needed into the Stamp Duty thresholds.”

Yes it's a good idea to do free EPC's like it's good to do everything you fo for free but like I said if they were any good they wouldn't have to do anything for free! |

What are you on about?
Refunding HIPs purchased 7 days prior to their suspension? Brilliant. Offering a free EPC to secure an instruction? An EPC can be done for less than £40? It's a great idea. I sense some sour grapes...hhmmm. I think other EAs should be offering a refund upon completion for recently purchased HIPs. |
| | Suprise suprise, Countrywide trying to buy themselves some market share! Can you guys ever come up with a marketing ploy that doesnt cost you any money!! |
