We think you’ll agree this is the perfect registration number for an estate agent – or at least, one with a sense of humour.

It belongs to (just) ex-estate agent Tony Williamson who retired ten days ago. Until then, he ran Ince Williamson in Chorley, Lancashire, with Ian Ince who has now bought him out.

Tony says: “I have been an estate agent in Chorley for 32 years. The number plate was very well known in the town and I am sure gained us a lot of business to keep us at number one or two in the town against all the corporates.

“Clients loved it and it certainly broke the ice with viewers. I am now going to run my property investment company part time.”

The number is now for sale, although clearly you’d better allow for a last minute price hike.

Call Tony Williamson on 07836 216463 – oh, and do let EAT know if you do buy it.

Good bit of fun though being a wet blanket I have never seen the attraction of paying significant money forpersonalised number plates especially if the meaning isn't obvious which it almost is in this case.

In fact before any agent splashed out thousands for this plate and without wishing to queer Tony's sales pitch a policeman chum warned me against them many years ago as he said it makes it far easier for Plod to identify someone they want to speak to - like this agent for example!!

Best two plates I have ever seen:-

MSDOS on a blue BMW many years ago when that was the prime computer operating system so I assume belonged to an IT guy.

And best of all B10PSY on a porsche outside the shopping outlet at Bicester which I assume belonged to a hospital consultant.

Now those two were truly brilliant but in each case I'd rather have the car (and Tony's too by the looks of it!!)

Congratulations Tony on your retirement, and good luck to your partner, Ian Ince for the future.
With that name, Ian has obviously been associated with the web for several generations.
I can see why he hesitates to adopt your number though.
Having retired from general practice a few years ago, and finally hung my estate agency boots up at Easter, I still have my plate HSE 1 on retention.
I shall bung EAT a commission if anything transpires ...
