The boss of a property firm who revealed on a social networking site that he has gone on gardening leave has left, his former company has confirmed.

James Sherwood-Rogers, former managing director of Daily Mail-owned Landmark Information Group which includes Quest, let slip his new status on his Linked-In profile.

Now Stephen Stout, chief executive of Landmark Information Group, has confirmed the departure.

He said: “Following eight years at Landmark Information Group, James Sherwood-Rogers has left the company to pursue other interests.
 
“We wish him well in his future pursuits.”
 
He added: “While we are recruiting a replacement, David Callcott, finance director of Landmark Information Group, has taken on the role of acting managing director.”
