Here’s our New Year appeal – to Primelocation.

It launched a splendid sounding competition called the 2009 Primelocation Property Blog Awards.

Categories were for Best blog, Best blog post, Best new blog, and Users’ favourite blog.

Blogging fantastic, we thought! After all, estate agents and others in the property world are very good bloggers, whether on their own sites or elsewhere. They know how to use the medium well, and their blogs are often witty, clever and to the point.

And the prizes, of Habitat vouchers, sounded okay too.

However, the 2009 Primelocation Property Blog Awards were launched on December 17, just as everyone was getting ready to go off for Christmas, and the closing date was midnight yesterday. So, I’m afraid you’re probably too late.

We have a funny feeling that maybe the idea for the Property Blog Awards wasn’t dreamed up until the evening of December 16. At any rate, EAT wasn’t told about it so we couldn’t spread the word.

So, Primelocation, how about reopening the competition and extending your deadline for another week or two? Or was the whole idea that you didn’t want anyone to enter in the first place?

Assuming EAT is correct, perhaps TDPG should be looking in the mirror and wondering how they could have made much more from what, on the face of it, seems like a good PR exercise/opportunity.
