Agents’ Mutual Ltd has announced its latest recruit to back its plans for a new 100% agent-owned property portal – the Thamesview Group.

Thamesview is one of London’s largest fastest-growing independent estate agency groups with over 60 offices in and around the capital. It currently operates 13 brands including Dexters, Chard, Friend & Falcke, Square Mile and Waterview.

Thamesview Group managing director Andy Shepherd said: “There is a clear need to create a new competitor in the portals market which is owned and controlled by agents.

“We have signed up to Agents’ Mutual as we believe it can deliver tangible benefits in portal costs and control of property data to us and to the whole agency industry.”

Ian Springett of Agents’ Mutual said: “We are delighted to have this support from Thamesview Group. Their agency brands are instantly recognisable in the London property market and together are a force to be reckoned with.

“It further strengthens our progress and helps underline our commitment to serving all agents in all segments of the residential property market.”

Instead of complaining about portal costs why don't you get an XML2U feed and automate your listings on any of 325+ portals, 50+ of which are free. www.xml2u.com

So we dont need another portal.

Lets just list via one another. Screw rightmove.

Lets have 10 agents on one subscription and we'll do the same with Z. So cheaper than anynewbieportal.com and if Rm and Z work out £1200 thats £120 each

We then let the corporates fund RM and Z with the £millions theyve taken from us from their Rm and z shares

Not another portal. Please please no.

Looks like some of the bigger agents just want to do like countrywide and connells did with rightmove. Make loads of wonga and dominate.

If its free then you can take my money. If its not then im out.

Tried to do a joint marketing deal and vendors said Thamesview wouldnt have us and them on joint agency so another reason to not be mutual.

This little London agent wont be doing

    @ Rightmove

Please try and stop me working with sister and friend.

Together we do better for our clients. Trading standards would love you or zoopla to stop our clients from getting so many combined viewers. Please put it in writing and I'll drop it off to Mike at TS. PLEASE

Now must leave for the airport and spend some of those portal fees we save.

I recently sat in one of the Agents Mutual presentations and it was very long! That's not to say it wasn't interesting; Zoopla have more strength in certain areas of the country than RM and vica versa so splitting them by way of obligation could work. One thing I didn't hear (or it may have passed me by) was the consumer strategy? What will be the USP for portal users?

I hope the company has a social media strategy in place... I kid, I kid.

Went to one of the Mutuals meetings. Wont be doing. Too London centric and later think the bigger agents backing will take the prime advertising spots.

Will be dropping portals not supporting another and put moremoney in our own seo

We do zoopla and sister does rightmove. Friend does gumtree. We all pay our bit and show each others properties.

We save collectively over £20,000 a year by listing for each other. Im off on holiday with my savings. Won't be doing the mutual. Weve got main bases covered.
