I became an estate agent becauseI needed to earn some extra money while I finished my BA in Politics, and I loved the job so much that I decided to forge a full time career in estate agency, once I'd finished my course.

The biggest threat to our industry isarrogant estate agents who refuse to evolve and keep up with the changes in the property market. Our clients still want a traditional service but with a modern edge, and don't want to pay huge fees any more.

My proudest moment in estate agency isestablishing my own company, and marking our 2nd anniversary by opening an office in a prominent and busy location.

My biggest mistake in estate agency isbelieving that Mi-Move could succeed as an online only company without a huge marketing budget. We learnt that an office would be necessary and then swiftly set out to find the right commercial premises to suit our needs.

The most stressful part of my job ismanaging client expectations, through what ultimately is a stressful and emotional transaction for many.

If I could change one thing about estate agency it would bethe public perception that all estate agents are the same'. Many estate agents fit the negative stereotype, but not all of us do, and assumptions only damage the reputation of those who are hardworking and honest.

My one piece of advice for young agents isdo not assume that estate agency work offers an easy way to make money. The harder you work, the more you can get out of it, and if you are looking to estate agency for a straightforward' 9-5 career you should consider having a re-think.

The best thing about being an estate agent isthe variety that each day brings. No two days are ever the same, so I never get bored, and it keeps me on my toes.
