Hello and welcome once again to Industry Views.

This week we welcome Joanna Norris, a partner at Ratio Law, who specialises in property, landlord and tenant law. In her first piece, Joanna discusses how and why estate agents must now inform potential buyers of any negative aspects of a property for sale.

The Secret Agent is back and in his latest article he explores the rise of Foxtons. Meanwhile, our series on Young People in the Property Industry continues with exclusive access to the diary of a young estate agent from Norfolk.

Our conveyancing specialists Rob Hailstone and Eddie Goldsmith have been working on a campaign focusing on the delays in obtaining information from managing agents which could see the subject receive some more national press coverage. They want to hear from estate agents for case studies and opinions, so if you have something to add to this story please contact Rob directly on: rh@boldgroup.co.uk or comment on the story and he will pick it up from there.

The biggest news stories for estate and letting agents this week included the confirmation that all letting agents must sign up to one of three redress schemes by the first of October, easyProperty's claim that it has 10,000 pre-registered properties to let ahead of its launch, Foxtons receiving yet more opposition to the opening of a new branch in West Hampstead and more controversial first time buyer figures from the NAEA. A video roundup of this week's biggest stories is now available to view on the site.

Finally, we want to hear from you. We are in the process of putting together a series of articles on the different working lives of rural and urban estate agents and would like to hear from anyone who would like to contribute to Industry Views regarding this subject. We would also like to hear from you about any further stories or issues you would like to see covered on Industry Views or in Breaking News. Please email any suggestions to: press@estateagenttoday.co.uk.

Until next time, have a great weekend,

The EAT & LAT Team.
