Competition for the coveted ESTAS, sponsored by Zoopla, is hotting up as entries reach record levels – for the eighth year running.

Already 365 agency firms have registered for next year’s competition and over 4,000 votes have been submitted by buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants.

The unique ESTAS scheme means that all the judging is done by the only people who matter – the public – making the awards easily the most meaningful of all the schemes.

“Now until February next year is the perfect time for agents to contact clients they have worked with during 2010,” says Simon Brown, organiser of the ESTAS.

“It’s a great way to touch base with customers in a relatively quiet period and reinforce an agent’s commitment to quality customer service.

“At the same time, agents are beginning to think about their marketing strategy for 2011 and how they can differentiate themselves from the competition in their area. Being part of the ESTAS gives agent an immediate USP they can build on over the year.

“We expect total votes to exceed 20,000 for next year’s competition (they were 19,000 for 2010) and that’s an extremely powerful statistic for any short-listed agent to use when talking to a prospective client.”

Agents can enter the ESTAS until  December 31 and clients have until the beginning of February to register votes.

The best-rated agents will be short-listed in 14 regions across the UK including Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Winners will be announced at the ESTAS at the Hilton in Park Lane, London, on Friday, April 15, by Phil Spencer.

EAT is the official media partner for ESTAS sponsored by Zoopla in association with HomeLet, Rayner Recruitment, Moneypenny and the RICS.

In response to the comments below - a detailed audit takes place after voting closes. The scoring formula is based on the average ratings from clients which is weighted by the % return rate. This system creates a level playing field ensuring smaller agents can compete with the larger corporates.

looking at previous winners, this seems dodgy. I would like tyo know, if one agent gets two glowing reviews (and no others) and another agent gets 40 glowing reviews but 10 not so good ones, who is classed as the better agent?
