VTUK, a property software provider, has joined the Twitter revolution.

It is using the micro-blog to tell customers and potential customers how to get the best from the company’s software, advise on legislation affecting the property sector, and inform of updates available for the firm’s software programs.

An O2 survey published in last week’s Financial Times suggested three million messages are sent by small businesses through Twitter every day.

Peter Grant, managing director of VTUK, said: “We are always keen to communicate with our customers as much as we can. Twitter offers a new way of doing that – it is quick, direct and also gives our customers a feel for the type of vibrant company we are.

“We receive around 150 inquiries every week from customers wanting advice on how to get the most out of our software. Twitter provides a quick and easy way of sharing this valuable information with the entire customer base.

“The idea of micro-blogging may be in its embryonic stages, but it is already showing itself to be a valuable tool with which to communicate with customers.”
