David Beckham’s childhood home is for sale – privately.

Offered at £850,000 on Gumtree.com, it seems priced well out of its division for a modest terrace house in Leytonstone, east London.

In fact, about 400% over-priced, since it is for sale for at least four times the value of other houses in the same street.

Buyers won’t get much for their money other than the prestige of living at Beckham’s first home before he moved to Chingford, Essex, with his family. The property has three bedrooms, wood flooring, a garden and a fitted kitchen.

Gumtree trends analyst Trisha Routledge said optimistically: “The housing market always has room for flexibility. While the market is generally regarded as being in freefall, on Gumtree we see that the more originality and quirkiness a property has, the more likely it is to be snapped up quickly.”

“Every house has a little bit of a story to it and we encourage sellers to really maximise their property’s individuality: that way they should still get a decent price even in these tough times.”

The house can be viewed on https://www.gumtree.com/london/88/30769088.html just in case you fancy having a little word with its owner.

A sad excuse for Gumtree to get some free publicity. The owner probably thinks it's realistic but has missed the fact that David Beckham's fame is falling faster than their house price.

Even Ask.com is confused on the subject of the county into which Chingford falls. But we think it's now in Greater London having previously been classified as Essex.
