Congratulations from EAT goes to Pygott & Crone, which took top honours at this year's Sunday Times Estate Agency of the Year event, sponsored by Zoopla.

Here is the introduction of the judges' description of why this Lincolnshire firm took top honours, beating hundreds of rivals.

The offices are prominently located, and are designed to strike a fine balance between contemporary design whilst remaining sympathetic to the traditions of their area. This attitude extends to the rest of the business; everyone has an excellent understanding of both rural and agricultural matters but uses the most up to date technologies for communication and promotion.

Pygott & Crone invests heavily in technological advances. Whilst the partners appreciate that nothing can replace the personal touch, they also understand that clever and focused use of technology is the most efficient way to communicate with their clients as they are spread over such a vast area. There are many examples of how they make this approach work -particularly effective is the use of drone cameras to film aerial footage for documentary style videos.

Here are the other national category winners:

Best National Estate Agency: Countrywide (gold), Reeds Rain (silver), Your Move (bronze).

Best Large Estate Agency: Hamptons International (gold), Andrews (silver), Foxtons (bronze).

Best Medium Estate Agency: Pygott & Crone (gold).

Best Small Estate Agency: Brand Vaughan (gold).

Best Single Office Estate Agency: Paramount (gold).

Outstanding Contribution: David Newnes, LSL Property Services.

I never understand the passing off of a slideshow of still images with Ken Burns effect as a "video".
Nor a collection of such as being a "TV channel".
