As exclusively revealed yesterday on Estate Agent Today, easyProperty, the new online estate agency from easyJet founder Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, will launch on September 15.

It will initially focus on the lettings market, offering what it calls a pick and mix' range of services such as photography, viewings, deposit handling and tenancy agreements.

What it calls an unbundled pricing model', which has been pioneered by the easyGroup, offers landlords the choice as to what services they do or do not want.

Robert Ellice, CEO of easyProperty, says the service bridges the gap between what estate agents currently offer and what consumers want; a transparent, convenient and cost effective service that gives them complete control.

The site says it will only charge a minimal fee for signing tenancy agreements in comparison to the hundreds of pounds often charged by some high street agents - tackling head-on an increasingly volatile argument that exists inside and outside the industry about agents' fees.

The site also says that, unlike some other online agents, all listed prices will include VAT.

A full range of services will be revealed at the September lettings launch, while a sales service is expected to launch in 2015.

@ Rob please be reassured that this is a very serious business proposition that aims to bring real choice and value to the estate agency market.@sarah i have to disagree ,easyjet is one of Europe biggest and most successful airlines indeed quoted only this Monday in the Telegraph Carolyn McCall CEO easyjet told BBC Radio 4's Today programme that once passengers try easyJet, 95pc of them don't go back to using their previous preferred carrier. @algarveinvestor if anything its the current estate agents who have opaque pricing models, we will offer clear and transparent pricing, you will only pay for what you need and not a penny more. Convenience,Value and Service, its easy.....:)

If they are anything like how esay jet is ran then they will be useless at selling properties. People will be put off viewing properties they advertise as you know down the line there will be hidden fees for the buyer or seller. They have the financial backing but the easy jet brand is tarnished as being cheap and useless. I think when it comes to selling your biggest asset i would prefer to use someone that see you as a client more than just turnover. I am not saying use a traditional estate agent as they are the past but there are smaller online firms that provide excellent service and price without hidden costs.

I imagine the already recognisable brand will play a big part - what does everyone else think I think like Virgin, they could be successful quite soon.

Will certainly be interesting to see if they can establish themselves. They're certainly a big brand, albeit with a mixed reputation - on the one hand they're cheap and cheerful and do what they say on the tin, on the other hand it's a little bit tacky, budget and riddled with hidden costs. And there's no legroom. Wonder if their properties will follow suit.

I've been very cynical about easyProperty in the past, but will be interesting to see how they fare when they do actually launch. Is this just a vanity project, with Stelios trying to tap into the potentially lucrative lettings market whilst the iron's hot, or is it a more serious, long-term venture
